This program is for the student who could use a tailor-made approach to life.
There is an assumption that all students know how to be organized and efficient. Students are typically never taught the skills they need to thrive in the world with the way they think and learn. Everyone's brain works differently; and that's good! The way your student's brain works can be helpful in some ways and not so helpful in others. Often brilliant, big thinkers struggle with the detailed minutia of life, and in today's classroom, organization plays a key role in academic success. Empowering your student with organizational skills based on their unique learning style ensures lifelong confidence well beyond their school-age years.
This is where we can help! Through careful analysis of how your student's particular brain works, we can help design a plan for dealing with their stuff and schedule by capitalizing on their strengths and specific learning modalities to achieve organizational success.
How the Program Works:
First, we will arrange an assessment visit where we meet with you and your student. During this visit we do a tour of their living and study areas, ask some questions, and set priorities and goals. This visit typically takes 1.5 hours.
Subsequent sessions will involve evaluating and implementing organization solutions including:
An "overhaul" of the student's working spaces (e.g., backpack, locker, workspace/desk and room) with an emphasis on what works best for them and educating them on that methodology
Guidance on school supplies appropriate for the student's needs and newly designed systems
Time management skills and how to use different tools (e.g., reminders, alarms, calendars, planners, etc) that cater to their specific learning modalities
Digital guidance - best practices for email management, electronic file storage, etc. - if applicable
Our rate for these services will be discussed during our initial phone consultation.
