Binder for household manuals

I had a cancellation today so I took full advantage of my free time and got to organizing!

I had a tattered and torn paper folder bursting with manuals for everything outdoors including the garage door, the motion sensor light, the kids' playset, and more.  Every time we needed to find a manual, we had to shuffle through the entire contents of the folder.  In the interest of efficiency, I decided to dig into this mini-organizing project feet first.

The first thing I did was separate the manuals into 4 piles:
  • Recreation
  • Lawn & Garden
  • House/Garage Exterior
  • Tools
I used Avery Big Tab Dividers (love these) and printed labels for each category.  Then I put each manual within each pile into sheet protectors and placed them into the proper section of the binder.  I made a quick label for the front and spine of the binder on my label maker and voila!  I am actually looking forward to the next time my husband comes inside after messing with the broken weed wacker for 2 hours and asks for the manual.  Good times are ahead for us (well, me anyway)!
